Rabu Rainbow

Rather than watching Arashi let onto a treadmill on a green back, I would rather see them walking on location, on a real floor! Seriously they cannot be idols elevated so much that they can't even tread common ground? Jokes!

Yes yes Rabu Rainbow PV and all that.

I could watch a whole lot of Ochan lazing around on a couch. And if several members could in turn sit on them in their own unique way, yes that would make my day.

Nino, Nino is perfect as always! Does all his shots all in one go.

Just noticing the little details, like the way Ochan pulls at his sweater sleeves before he the stylist puts his jacket on him.

Jun's eyes rolling around to catch the time on the cameraman's wrist.

Sho, always thinking too hard in between remembering lyrics and envisioning the perfect premise for his mise en scene.

Another who simply cannot multi-task, Aiba-san graces us with an awesomely royal stack. And he's totally the sweaty kid, sitting home on the summer holidays, who sings into a rotating fan, to make that funny noise.

So much imaginary scenery to envision, on an imaginary backdrop, far be it for the director to capture any semblance of authenticity. Thank you James Cameron, 3D is here to stay.

Seem to watch Makings far more than PVs these days. When you contrast that perfection, with the tired eyes and fluorescent lighting in documentary film making, so much on the screen tells you about that moment in time. Somehow I am in love with being enveloped in that private world for that second, more than any degree of CG could fasten diamonds to my eyes.

Don't you want to know where that wrestling Nino and Ohno go home at night?

Just, preliminary observations on first watchings, might add more later.

Oh yeah the whole diaspora from Vox is really peeving me off. I can't feel at home on LJ because all I have are locked away actually real personal entries, and I'm still mourning all the comments we're losing on pictures that won't be exported to here, and.. all. And I don't like this LeapFrog lilypad of lonely blogging here on Typepad!

*the me that is this book. ^__^

Embarassingly pink and girly fairy Moleskin sketchbook wannabe that I picked up for something like $2 when I was a student. The pages are yellow, which makes it not so intimidatingly white to draw on. There's a coating on the paper which doesn't make it ideal for watercolour, and its quite thin, but make do!

Photo version is a lot better, you can see the texture of the paper and the layers of paint.

Real-life version is even better. ;DD

Discovered two awesome artists today. Want to learn how to spraypaint. This is me hyping up for the release of street artist Banksy's film Exit Through the Gift Shop. Dran draws on discarded corrugated cardboard boxes, the medium itself is a comment of mass-manufacture and consumption. His subjects are always quirky, junkyard cubed cars, and ladies in the midst of liposuction on a mayonnaise carton. Herakut is a team of two artists who like to embrace the intimate nature of drawing as the heart of art. Mesmering characters, interspersed with smoking donkeys, chihuaha heads and faery like beings jumped right out of Brian Froud's world. Lovely.

How are your powers of recollection?

How are your powers of recollection, on a bumpy train ride? No time to draw, and no references so drew this on daily commute, thus the arthritic lines. Its pretty good, right? I got the hand positions right! But then people were staring at the girl drawing guns at nine in the morning. ;; Not exactly a mecha freak, but the gun design looks cool huh!

NINO MONTH lovelies!

Not awesome for stenciling, always forget to put stencil supports right up until I start accidentally start cutting spirals out! This would look really cool spray painted on to a black blazer..

Thank you Annie :)

Even though this took me 4 days of procrastination. I'm going to warm up my hands for Nino month!

結構 いつも行き詰まったるよ

I am always running into some sort of artistic block.

でも そこで(描き)続けるとまた違う
But if you are able to continue after that, things will change again.

行き詰まるというのは向上心
Maybe that artistic block is the ambition we have to get better.

まだ伸びる余地が残されている
So if you think of it that way, you believe you still have room for growth.

もがいていれば きっかけがある時やってくる
If you struggle through it, there will be a time when you are ready to start again.

もがいてないければ けっかけもやってこない
But if you don’t struggle, there will be nothing to kick start your motivation again.

試行錯誤して悩んだりしていく中で急にインスピレーションがくる
When you are lost in that trial and error phase, all of a sudden, your inspiration will come.
